Review: Faking it series by Chloe Walsh

I am addicted to Chloe Walsh’s writing. I love her Carter Kids series and absolutely devoured the Broken series. So when this first book of this series: ‘Off Limits’ went on sale, I didn’t hesitate. My only gripe was that it wasn’t long enough. I wanted more.

Adriana is an innocent girl and Nate is a boy from the trailer park on the wrong side of the tracks. This book has all of the trademark turmoil that Walsh is known for. The teenage angst and parental drama. I love this series, have inhaled the first two books and wait on tenderhooks for the rest to come down the pipe line.

Chloe Walsh has done it again with this sexy, desperate, devastating, YA romance.

Five out of five Ms Walsh. Everything this author writes is gold.

“Adriana is the privileged daughter of business mogul, Clive Davis, and town socialite, Liv. Blessed with wealth, beauty, and a football hero older brother, to the outside world Andi looks like the quintessential daddy’s little rich girl, but looks can be deceiving.

The truth is Andi’s life is far from perfect…”

Review:Legally Yours by Nicole French (Spitfire #1)

Available on amazon, here:

It’s not often that I fall in love with a conventional love story like this.

It’s the tale of a Harvard law student, Skylar, and a romance between her ex-boss, a partner at the law firm she interned at during the summer.

Whilst I am all for an independent and intelligent woman, what sells this story is Sterling’s vulnerability when it comes to women that only want him for his money and the weaknesses surrounding his upbringing are emotionally realistic and made me really feel for the main characters. He puts his foot in his mouth often and is a very enduring character without being aggressive and obnoxious.

If you love a damaged man and a strong female, career driven character, you will love this book!

It’s full of twists and turns and is such a journey that I honestly cannot wait for the next one!

If you like Gabriel’s inferno by Slyvain Reynard, you will love this.

Review: Dark Light by S.L Jennings (Dark Light Series Book 1) FREE EBOOK

51bop8xfy7l-_sy346_

Available for Free on amazon here:

The Dark Light series by S.L Jennings is the kind of YA series that borders on sexual obscenity in a brilliant and addictive way. The chemistry between the two main characters, Gabby and Dorian is simply palpable. The new adult angst and relationships keep the story buoyant but what I love about this series is the mythology and the magic.

Oh… and the sex.

The mythology is intriguing and well-rounded and it’s just as well S.L Jennings made the first book free because you definitely have to get the rest of the series once you have read the first one!

Dark, Light – Magic and Witches. A murderer on the loose and an adult awakening into the world of witchcraft but in an entirely new way. S.L Jennings has created a brilliant world and filled it with characters and story thick enough to leave you salivating for more.

Love. Sex. Magic.

Before her 20th birthday, Gabriella was pretty much clueless about all three. In love with her best guy friend since the age of 14 and too crass and intimidating for most of the male population of Colorado Springs, love and good sex were virtually a myth.

And then there’s magic. Freakin’ magic. There’s no way that legend could have a place in her less than exciting life. So why after twenty years of utter obscurity do her adopted parents hit her with the ton of bricks that is her true identity? And how the heck is she supposed to accept all this and become what she was truly created to be?

Five out of Five – Dorian, oh my gosh. I would go to the Dark for him.

Review: The Hating Game by Sally Thorne

Buy on amazon here:

I am pretty much a bargain hunter when it comes to ebooks. Free or under a fiver and they suit me fine. I don’t know why I stretched my budget and took the plunge on this book.

Lucy Hutton, professional ‘nice girl’, prides herself on being loved by everyone at work – except for imposing, impeccably attired Joshua Templeman.

Trapped together in the world’s shiniest shared office, they’ve become entrenched in an addictive rivalry. There’s the Staring Game, The Mirror Game, The HR Game. Lucy can’t let Joshua beat her at anything, especially when a huge promotion comes up for grabs.

This is her chance to finally get the better of the man she can’t seem to get out of her office, or her head. If Lucy wins, she’ll be Joshua’s boss. If she loses, she’ll resign. The race is on – and the real games have only just begun…

Perhaps it was because my goodreads and amazon recommends were adamant that I would enjoy it. Damn you amazon. You’re always right!

I don’t tend to read conventional romantic comedy, much less romances that are set in an office. It reads too close to home for me, (I’m sat at a desk, yay!) but this one really appealed to me.

I laughed out loud, I loved the main character Lucy something fierce. She was gloriously immature in a way that made me relate to her.

The story is great: two PA’s stuck in an office together and competing for the same job. They hate each other. They play games with each other.

They fall in love.

The build up to the main relationship is worth a read and set this apart from typical romantic comedies for me.

Five out of five. Would bang Josh.

Definitely worth a read.

Review: Neighbours by Stylo Fantôme (Twin Estates Series) KINDLE UNLIMITED

32199811

Buy Neighbours on amazon here:

I borrowed this book on kindle unlimited and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The cover isn’t very inspirational but the description of the book is what drew me in to an unfamiliar author.

Katya Tocci has never paid much attention to who lives next door – her career always kept her too busy. She’s a good girl, working her way to becoming the most sought after cake designer in all of San Francisco.

But even a good girl’s gotta cut loose once in a while, right? So one fake dating profile later, and she’s ready to tarnish her squeaky clean image. Little does she know, her fun time is closer to home than she ever imagined.

Throw in a neighbor who wants to corrupt her, and another who just wants to own her, and her entire world is flipped upside down.

The story starts in an unconventional way but the character dynamic between Katya, Liam and Wulfric definitely makes the simple premise into something much more twisted and brilliant.

Honestly, although this book was listened under a more contemporary romance sub-genre, I couldn’t read it as much. It wasn’t a traditional romance by any means but definitely worth a read.

It’s a good thing there are two books in this series, because the first one ends with a cliffhanger and a twist that will leave you wanting more. It will leave you devastated and (hopefully without giving too much away) it will leave you wanting revenge!

I enjoyed the complexities of the characters and they definitely made a simple story into something brilliant.

five out of five,

Review: Crown of Lies / Throne of Truth by Pepper Winters (Truth and Lies Duet Series)

Purchase on amazon here:

The truth and lies duet series is tame, compared to some of Pepper Winter’s other series’. Particularly the new Dollars series sticks in my mind as one of my new favourites. That being said: Winters’s writing has an addictive quality that can make the darkest depravity into a relatable and curious read.

The Truth and Lies duet is about a young heiress, who decides to escape her life for a night only to be almost assaulted and then rescued. Her rescuer, Nameless, is then arrested. The story begins from there.

I loved the first book in the series vehemently.

Particularly the lead heroine, Elle Charleston, a strong independent woman with strong family ties.

I found it difficult to relate to Penn Everett (main male) in the first book, namely because he is a very brusque character and quite aggressive. However, the very thing that made him difficult to relate to is actually the backbone of the series. In the second book, when Penn’s character shows vulnerability due to plot points (no spoilers) I found that I missed his strong and violent personality. I missed his over-confidence.

The first book was a brilliant exercise in character development, although not as dark as I am used to with Pepper Winter’s work. The second book was more of a plot driven conclusion, although I would have liked more background on the lead villains’ as it felt like they were not properly explored enough to give their actions emotional weight in the series.

I give this series four out of five.

Review: Whispers and The Roars by K Webster

Whispers and the Roars by K Webster

It’s a rare occurrence when I recommend a book to people with the notion that honestly, they would be better off not knowing anything about the plot as they dive into it.

I  think that any spoilers would ruin this book beyond belief. The way that the first part and the character’s tie into the second part in such a twist, that you would never expect it, is simply brilliant. The amount of research K Webster has done on the subject matter is stunning and this book has amazing character establishment that I honestly can’t praise it enough.

I will tell you the basic premise but to be honest, it makes this sound like its going to be a standard genre romance when honestly it isn’t.

Kady was abused as a child. Yeo, her childhood sweetheart, who she broke up with so she wouldn’t hold him back, is a newly qualified doctor and has come home to prove to his and Kady’s family that they really do belong together.

This novel is dark, romantic and desperate.

Fans of my book The Bleeders would honestly love it.
